Family-orientated intensive care

Our philosophy

Parents should be able to integrate their baby into their lives as quickly as possible, even in the intensive care unit. Intensive care technology is reduced to the absolute minimum, while attention to your child and family is maximised.

Early contact and preparation

In the premature baby consultation, we will contact you as soon as you are admitted to our hospital with premature birth aspirations. You can visit our ward and know exactly where your child will be cared for.

Kangaroo-Care: Healing closeness

Direct skin contact between mum, dad and baby - „kangarooing“ - is intensively encouraged. As soon as your baby's state of health allows, you can rest and cuddle together.

Gradual integration of parents

After the birth, you will be sensitively introduced to the care and nursing of your child. You will learn how to care for your baby independently - even if it is born prematurely or is ill.

Rooming-in: Being together right from the start

As soon as your baby's state of health allows it, you can take your baby into your room for hours at a time at first, and later for longer. This allows your child to be with you continuously.

KangaRoom: Intensive care with a family feel

Our patient room, equipped with intensive care equipment, allows you to be with your baby at all times, even if it needs to be monitored or treated. The „KangaRoom“ is physically attached to the neonatology department - we can be with you quickly if you need support.

Our care: promoting maturation

Our aim is to provide continuous and sustainable care. Our families with premature or sick newborn babies we provide needs-based support and thus promote the development of your baby.

Supporting natural development

Most premature babies are born healthy, but are not yet prepared for life outside the womb due to their immaturity.

We reinforce the still immature functions with:

  • External heat
  • Gentle respiratory support
  • Individually coordinated nursing and medical measures

Create an optimal environment

Promote day-night rhythmOur light is dimmed at the beginning, it is switched off at night and noises are reduced. This helps children sleep better and find their natural day-night rhythm more easily.

Noise reductionLoud noises disturb brain development. We reduce technical noises to a minimum with the help of a noise traffic light. Music can have a calming effect.

Familiar odoursBabies love natural odours and even very immature premature babies perceive odours. A shirt or scarf worn by you can give your baby a sense of security.

Healing touchesAll people who care for your baby strengthen body awareness and interaction skills through mindful touch.

Breastfeeding support: the best for your baby

Breastfeeding and breast milk are important for you and your baby. From the very first hours of your baby's life, we will show you ways to Breast milk collection so that your baby can Valuable colostrum even if it is not yet able to feed at the breast.

Premature babies and sick newborns often have problems with feeding.

We support you with:

  • Special storage techniques
  • Customised docking aids
  • Alternative feeding methods (e.g. breastfeeding with the breastfeeding kit)
  • Dispensing with suction cups

Complementary therapies

In addition to modern intensive care medicine, we offer proven complementary therapy methods that support the healing and development of your baby in a natural way. These holistic approaches have been tried and tested in our clinic over the years and can - if you wish - complement the medical treatment in a meaningful way.

Classical homeopathy

Classical homeopathy has proven itself as a holistic therapy method in our clinic for over 10 years. It can be used to support the treatment.

Osteopathy

Physiotherapeutic or osteopathic support can have a positive influence on a baby's development from the very first days. We offer this therapy if it is indicated.
