„A new start: breast reconstruction after cancer“
Dr Moritz Schoeneich, Head Physician of the Breast, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department at the Dr Geisenhofer Women's Clinic, was interviewed for the 03/2026 issue of the magazine „Frau im Leben“ on the topic of „New beginnings: breast reconstruction after cancer“.
The article explains clearly what options patients have to rebuild their breasts after a mastectomy - i.e. the complete removal of the mammary gland.
He describes the possibilities of breast reconstruction with autologous tissue, a so-called DIEP flap surgery and reconstruction with silicone implants.
