When does surgery make sense?

Surgical treatment of fibroids should be considered if the following symptoms occur:

  • Severe bleeding disorders that can lead to anaemia
  • Pressure complaints on the bladder, bowel or nerves
  • Pain in the lower abdomen or during menstruation
  • Unfulfilled desire to have children or increased risk of miscarriage
  • Rapidly growing fibroids that affect other organs

The decision in favour of surgical treatment is always made on an individual basis after a detailed diagnosis and consultation. We take into account your personal life situation, your desire to have children and your symptoms.

Organ-preserving myoma enucleation - gentle and targeted

Minimally invasive, organ-preserving myoma enucleation is a procedure in which we specifically remove only the fibroids, while the healthy uterine tissue remains completely intact.

Advantages of laparoscopic myoma enucleation:

  • Preservation of the uterus and thus the ability to give birth
  • Small incisions (five to ten millimetres in size) instead of a large abdominal incision
  • Significantly reduced pain after the operation
  • Faster recovery and shorter hospital stay
  • Lower risk of adhesions
  • Better cosmetic result

The operation is performed by laparoscopy (laparoscopy) under general anaesthetic. We use state-of-the-art HD camera systems and special instruments that enable precise and tissue-sparing removal of the fibroids. After removal, the uterine wall is carefully sutured to ensure stability for a possible future pregnancy.

Partial hysterectomy (LASH)

Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LASH) is a proven method for women who no longer wish to have children and suffer from myoma-related symptoms. In this procedure, only the body of the uterus is removed, while the cervix remains intact.

Why LASH?

  • Preservation of the cervix for better pelvic floor stability
  • Lower risk of prolapse problems
  • Shorter operation time than with complete removal
  • Fewer complications compared to total hysterectomy
  • Preservation of the usual sexual function

The procedure is minimally invasive and involves small abdominal incisions. The uterus is cut into small pieces and removed through the small openings. The ovaries usually remain intact so that natural hormone production is not affected.

Total laparoscopic hysterectomy: the complete procedure

In a total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), we remove the entire uterus, including the cervix, in a minimally invasive procedure. This method is used if there are medical reasons for not retaining the cervix.

Indications for TLH:

  • Recurrent cell changes on the cervix
  • Very large or numerous fibroids
  • Additional diseases of the cervix
  • Patient request for complete removal

This procedure is also performed entirely laparoscopically without an abdominal incision. The uterus is removed via the vagina, which leaves no additional scars.
